Patch notes

Every change to Hyperline and its mods.

This week’s updates answered feedback from Oleander, Yogurt, Alan., Furotiza, Tormak, jr_, chuli, 🗡️†ThatCoolNexGal†🗡️ and 13 others. Thank you.

Aim Range

0.2.34 to 0.2.35
  • Violet is in the hero lists.
  • Faster game updates, for smoother server frames.

Aimtrack

0.1.15 to 0.1.19
  • Aimtrack bots now strafe with human timing, roam the floor and use character-specific movement
All 5 changes
  • Violet is in the hero lists.
  • The yard's walls are a dim grey that is easier on the eyes.
  • Shooting Late game items again clears them. Bots strafe with human timing: they speed up, slow down and pause before strafing back. Mina bots spam strafes and Celeste bots bunny hop. Bots roam the whole floor. Leaderboard and challenge builds leave out chance-based items and Burst Fire. Bots move more smoothly.
  • Aimtrack is now an unlisted experiment.
  • Faster game updates, for smoother server frames.

Cursed Arena

0.2.31 to 0.2.41
  • Cursed Arena adds Violet to its hero lists
  • Cursed Arena lobbies now use the mode and starting souls their host picks
  • Cursed Arena keeps Rift fights from triggering an unfair comeback bonus
All 12 changes
  • Violet is in the hero lists.
  • Lobbies show the round, mode, score and time left of a running match
  • The match state lives in the arena itself
  • A lobby now plays the mode and starting souls its host picked.
  • Fewer server hitches when a duelist dies or comes back: the respawn spot is found without checking every point in the arena.
  • Faster messages between the arena and the server
  • Server logs time each step of a duelist's frame, to find the slow one
  • The server log names what makes a slow frame, so slow frames can be fixed.
  • Pop Off launches you upward without lifting you into a ceiling.
  • Haze Knives: you return visible, with Smoke Bomb cooling down.
  • Rift fights no longer open the Rift, so its comeback bonus cannot favor one side.
  • Cursed Arena now always plays on a Hyperline server, while we fix games hosted on a player's PC

  • A slow moment in a mode no longer stops it: the server catches up by skipping frames, warns players, and /restartmod restarts a mod that stays stuck.
  • Fixed games failing to start on Hyperline servers.
  • Academy rounds start with any ready student, and bots fill the open seats.
  • A student who joins late gets a seat, and the teacher can take a seat in a round.

  • A level after a clear no longer snaps you back or levels your camera.
  • Bots are visible from the first moment of a challenge.
  • The challenge field now changes size in waves: duels, crowds and six-bot rushes.
  • Clearing a level plays a reward sound, and a new best a bigger one.
  • The score card takes the place of the top bar.
  • Aimtrack is in alpha: the leaderboard now asks for your feedback. Type /feedback in chat with what to fix or add.
  • The challenge's hint now says how to stop the climb.
  • The leaderboard says what it ranks, and longer names fit.
  • Voting for the mode already playing now says so.
  • The store page lists /challenge and /reset and explains how a climb ends.
  • Vote for a mode: hold Tab and click Free aim, Vindicta Snipe or Headshot Flicks.
  • Vindicta Snipe: everyone plays Vindicta, and Assassinate kills any bot in one shot.
  • Headshot Flicks: bots stand still, and only a headshot kills.
  • A leaderboard at the right ranks the yard by kills in the playing mode.
  • Start or stop the challenge from a button under your score.
  • Bots run to their new places when a level starts instead of teleporting.
  • Bots now fly, dash, launch off air vents and ride ziplines: Vindicta flies, Grey Talon rains arrows from above, Deadman Danny jetpacks around

  • Freestyle route editing now works on dedicated servers
  • Academy adds lane practice sessions
Details

Aimtrack

0.1.3 to 0.1.7

  • Aimtrack adds fire strikes, rolling barrels, rocks and mines to its climbs
  • Aimtrack adds bots that shoot back in bursts from level 6
  • Aimtrack adds a timed kill challenge with levels you can skip by finishing early
All 6 changes
  • Every hero now climbs the same challenge ladder: a bot dies to one second of your gun's sustained fire, and bot hits take the same share of any hero's health. Levels ask for two kills more than their bots, and the clock shortens by half a second a level past level 11.
  • Each challenge climb now starts with your hero's late game build, the same set the items button gives.
  • Challenge hazards: fire strikes from level 2, rolling barrels from 4, stunning rocks from 6, mines from 15. Stay inside the posts. Every climb starts with no items or souls, finite ammo and a fixed bot roster, and each hero has its own ladder.
  • Challenge: from level 6 the bots shoot back in bursts, harder up to level 13, and dying fails the level.
  • Challenge: alone in the yard, shoot Start challenge or type /challenge to climb timed kill levels
  • Clear a level with 10 seconds left to skip the next; a miss past your best ends the climb

  • Aim Range lets one bullet drop a switching creature or trooper, so you can hold fire and sweep
All 13 changes
  • 360 Trooper troopers stay visible and play for the enemy team again.
  • Clicks in the static rooms register reliably: a click during a flick counts the orb the crosshair crossed, not only where it stopped.
  • 360 Trooper Switching: troopers take 0.4 seconds of fire to kill (4 bullets on Medium, 3 on Easy, 6 on Hard), like speed switching playlists.
  • 360 Trooper Switching: troopers spawn neutral in amber so they show.

  • The benchmark sheet moves to the right edge, so the Menu no longer opens behind it.

Cursed Arena

0.2.17 to 0.2.22
  • Cursed Arena bots now move and fight once a round goes live; they stood still before because the game's bot brain only fights in a solo bot match.
  • Cursed Arena 0.2.21 takes any souls a hero picks up in a match with no economy and no /souls, so the Rift, towers and walkers no longer pay for items there. The Rift still opens in its own arena, and with souls set by /souls objectives still pay.
  • Cursed Arena 0.2.20 skips the 30 second shop in team arenas when players have no souls, the default, and starts the next round after the short countdown. With souls set by /souls the shop still opens.
  • Cursed Arena 0.2.19 clears every bought item when a new match starts, including after a mode change in the same lobby; items still carry between rounds of one match where the shop is open.
  • Cursed Arena 0.2.18 only respawns a hero on open street that sees the lane's center, and skips lane points with no such street, so a respawn no longer lands inside a building or a wall.
  • Cursed Arena 0.2.17 removes the troopers an opened Rift sent once the round ends and again when the next round starts, so they no longer push lanes during the break.

Install Hyperline

Download it on the PC you play Deadlock on. It runs in your tray and opens Deadlock into the mode you pick here.

Antivirus blocked it?

Hyperline is signed, but some antivirus programs, such as Avast, AVG, Norton and Windows Defender, flag new programs that work with a game. Restore Hyperline from the quarantine, add C:\Program Files\Hyperline and %APPDATA%\Hyperline as exceptions, then open Hyperline again.

What the app does
  • Opens Deadlock straight into the mode you pick on the site.
  • Keeps your existing mods as-is.
  • Downloads the maps, sounds and interface each mod needs.
  • Sits in your tray. Closing this website doesn't end your game.
  • Updates itself. Uninstall it any time.
